The participating countries have a shared vision to innovate and learn in different technical areas. Each country has agreed to provide regional leadership in key technical areas where each has a comparative advantage and will serve as a center of excellence. There is emerging consensus that the countries’ centers of excellence will be in the following strategic areas:
- Lesotho — community-based management of MDR-TB;
- Malawi — community TB care and integrated disease surveillance;
- Mozambique — MDR-TB and childhood TB management;
- And Zambia — occupational health and safety.
