My fiance has been diagnosed with TB, she had been coughing for almost 2 months (doctors we saw said it was infection and flu, until finally one got it right) because it took so long for her to start treatment there has formed Cavities in her lungs (covers almost top half as seen on X-Rays) she is now on medication (Rifampin) i would just like to know will the treatment assist with the healing of the cavities or will they heal as the tb dies(becomes inactive from the treatment) because she has not received any medication besides the Tb (Rifampin)
she has now been on treatment for approximately 5weeks and the coughing has not gotten beter, is this normal?
