The East, Central and Southern Africa Health Community, the NEPAD Agency and the Ministry of Health Zambia convened an inaugural meeting of the Community of Practice (COP) on Mine Health Regulation and Occupational Health (MHROH) from 28th to 31st of August 2017.
The COP on MHROH is one of the 4 COPs established and operationalized under the World Bank funded Southern Africa Tuberculosis and Health System Support (SATBHSS) project being implemented in 4 countries (Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique and Zambia). The SATBHSS project aims to improve coverage and quality of key TB control and occupational lung disease services in targeted geographic areas of the participating countries; and strengthen regional capacity to manage the burden of TB and occupational diseases. At the regional level, the SATBHSS project is coordinated by ECSA-HC Secretariat and the NEPAD Agency.
