This subcomponent support the development of a skilled health workforce related to project activities based on a regionally defined curriculum, mentoring, and knowledge sharing in three critical areas:

  1. case detection and management of TB; 
  2. mine health regulation and occupational services; and 
  3. disease surveillance.

The subcomponent finances both pre- and in-service training. It seeks to achieve economies of scale and promote intercountry learning and exchanges through regionally coordinated training and skills development. It also finances training, consultancy, technical support, and operational costs.
